The Aeromao Aeromapper Talon, which uses the same communication system as the Aeromapper 300, demonstrated its ability to successfully complete a beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) mission that required 30 km distance between the drone and the operator. This type of mission is useful for applications such as power line and pipeline monitoring, roadway surveys, surveillance and wildlife control, and any mission that requires significant distance between the drone and its operator.
The flight was carried out 2,800 meters above sea level in the Andes Mountains of South America. The drone cruised over land and water at 250 meters above ground level for a total of one hour. After a round trip of 60 km, the Aeromapper Talon had plenty of flight time left, thanks to its 2-hour flight endurance. All this at a remarkably affordable price!
